Project Description
Stewart-Cooper-Newell provided a thorough space feasibility study for the Jacksonville Fire Department. Basing the study’s methodology on an analysis of City and County demographic data, along with fire historical staffing and call data, the design team was able to accurately predict the community’s demand for these services in the future. The continual growth of the Marine Corps base at Camp Lejeune was another driving force in estimating the City’s current and future Public Safety space needs.
At the conclusion of the study, the City was presented with a comprehensive document that summarized and outlined the findings of the study. This information resulted in a subsequent project, where Jacksonville contracted with Stewart-Cooper-Newell to provide architectural design services for the new Fire Station No. 2. The new station was completed May 2015.
