Project Description

The new Sumter Police Department facility is a Law Enforcement, Emergency Management, Response and Dispatch Facility. This Project utilized the Construction Manager at Risk design and construction method.

The new Department consists of a complete high-tech law enforcement facility that also houses a state of the art 911 Call Center and Emergency Operations Center. There is a secure central records area that serves as the central control point for the entire. Visitors are only allowed into the interior of the facility by escort.

The left side of the facility contains the 911 Call Center with the consoles, servers and associated support spaces. That side also contains the Administration and associated support staff. The right side of the facility contains the Criminal Investigations, OC-VC Investigations, juvenile and Patrol areas. The vehicular sally port and the canine holding area is just adjacent to the investigations area.

The already strategic and defensible layout of the New Sumter PD will be equipped with state of the art surveillance and access control systems further creating an equally secure environment for the public and staff.
