Project Description

The City of Simpsonville has seen significant population growth over the recent years. This has driven the city’s need to build a new Fire Substation No. 5. Stewart-Cooper-Newell, having maintained a relationship with the fire department since the design of Fire Station No. 4, was selected again to work side-by-side with the City of Simpsonville and the Fire Department.

Station No. 5 is located in a predominately residential neighborhood, and the size, forms, and materials were selected to compliment the community, while providing the best functioning facility for the next 50+ years.

The facility will accommodate four personnel, twenty-four hours a day and has two drive-through apparatus bays, support areas, and ample firefighter living spaces such as day-room, kitchen, and individual bunk areas. The site and station has been designed to accommodate future growth and additions when the fire service needs to increase.
