Project Description

The Gaston County Board of Trustees wanted to build a library facility that would be able to serve all the communities in and around Gaston County. This goal was achieved and is still being met after 37 years of service to the community. This 3-story facility houses all the administrative functions of the library system, has 2 community meeting rooms and a kitchen, along with an auditorium for performances.

The Library has separate areas for Children, Young Adult, and Adult literature. Computer Labs and Research Rooms facilitate lifelong learning in a welcoming environment.

This Library is best known for its large skylight roof which allows for natural day lighting to reduce the need for artificial lighting. This skylight can be removed and a fourth floor added for future growth.
